What is Geomancy?

Astrological Geomancy is an art composed of single dots in four rows and two columns.  Each row can have one or two dots.  If the row has one dot, it is centered between the columns.  If the row has two dots each dot takes its place in each column.  This example will illustrate.  Image two dots side by side, then one centered beneath them, then two beneath that, and a final one beneath those.  This makes the figure "Aquisitio".  This figure is good for money and brings great gains.  All the figures are variations of this series of four rows of dots.  There are sixteen figures in all.  These figures can also mix to form one from two.

The figure on the far left is "Via" and indicates travel and fast change (like looking out the window of a moving train. The scenery always changes.).  If you mix this figure with "Aquisitio" or great gain you get "Amissio".  This indicates that what was once profitable will change.  These rules do not apply in many other forms of divination including tarot readings.  In order to know relationships of certain cards, one must be very knowledgeable in occult meanings and relationships, and there is still a greater margin of error.

The rules for mixing figures works like this.

2 and 1 yields 1

1 and 2 yields 1

2 and 2 yields 2 

1 and 1 yields 2

So the one point at the top of Via mixed with the two points at the top of Aquisitio forms one point at the top of the resultant figure Amissio.

This same pattern is followed for the remaining three rows in order to calculate the resultant figure fully.

The above illustration is a very simple example of mixing and a real chart would contain fifteen of these figures.  All of these can mix and form countless details concerning the matter at hand.  A good example of an excellent chart (for most questions) can be seen on the right.  Note in this picture that the Judge, or central figure in the shield above is Fortuna Major.  This is the Greater Fortune and would indicate success in most matters.
